One of our recent REAL WEDDINGS 🙂 Enjoy what Carrie and Mark had to say about their experience!
How did you two meet/How long have you been together?
We have been together just over 3years.
We met in the gym and I have to say that Mark took quite a lot of persuading to ask me out. After a number of months and serious persistence on my part, he relented and asked me out for coffee. The rest, as they say, was history.
How did your partner pop the question?
It was my 30th birthday and Mark was taking me to Edinburgh (about an hours drive from where we live) for breakfast. At the time Edinburgh city was in the having a new bridge built a bridge that was groundbreaking engineering wise. The new bridge had a visitor and information center which we had visited on our second date.
On our way for “breakfast,” we pulled into this center and were met by a man who preceded to don us in high visibility protective clothing and took us onto the newly erected bridge still in construction. We were the first members of the public to walk on the bridge and the bridge is now a traffic only bridge. There in the middle of the bridge, Mark proposed.
What was your favorite moment(s) from the wedding?
Mark ‘the moment I turned round to see her. She looked so perfect. The perfect girl in the perfect dress in the perfect setting.’
Carrie ‘walking up to Mark and him taking my hands it completely calmed me and excited me that at that moment I knew we were promising to hold hands forever’
Did you see each other before the wedding? If not, did you like waiting or would you rather have done it differently? Tell me why or why not!
We saw each other early in the morning but then not again until I walked to him at the wedding location to take our vows. It was perfect to see Mark’s reaction when I walked towards him.
Tell me about your dress. Where did you find it, how did you choose it, how did you know it was the one?
My sister owns a bridal shop.
We went on a buying trip to New York and we saw the designer Chosen I knew then and there I would want one of their dresses. However, I didn’t think it would be the ‘nala’ that I fell in love with. As soon as I put it on I loved it! with a few adjustments from an amazingly talented seamstress (she turned the under dress into a bodysuit) it was my perfect dress.
I love to hear about vendors you love! Please list any vendors here and your experience with them!
Earth Limos fantastic service and drivers.
Stratosphere food was incredible and it really was a talking point that every so often a body would fly past the window haha
Did you find a store/site that had everything you were looking for?
Apple Blossom Time bridal boutique
DIYers….tell me what you made for your wedding! How was your experience putting your personal stamp on your event? Would you do it again?
My sister customized my white vans trainers and my denim jacket and she did such an amazing job. She is my best friend in the whole world and I couldn’t have had such a perfect day without her help and support through the whole thing from start to finish.
What’s one piece of advice you would give to other couples planning their own wedding?
Do it for you! Don’t worry about where anyone is going to sit or who will need what organize the whole thing for you as the couple.
Soak up every moment as it goes by so quickly and definitely DO IT IN VEGAS!!!!
