Their Story

Desiree and Michael came all the way across the pond to have their dream Vegas wedding! These two originally met in Portland, Orgeon as exchange students but didn’t get together right away and wound up dating for 2 years long distance before settling in London as a couple. They loved the idea of getting married in the US where they first met and knew they wanted something small and intimate, so a Cactus Collective Wedding was the perfect fit for them.

Desiree’s dress was a fun Giambattista Valli and H&M piece. Her mom spotted the ensemble and knew right away it would be perfect for a Vegas wedding. She paired the look with boots for a fun and unique edge (and comfort during the ceremony!) Desiree was skeptical about wearing a dress that wasn’t traditional white but wound up loving the whole look. Amelia C & Co did a fabulous job on Desiree’s hair and makeup for the big day. “I was quite nervous having someone I had never met before doing my makeup and hair for the first time on my wedding day, especially as I never wear makeup but the result was so good! I still felt like myself and it lasted all day and night,” said Desiree

Before heading to Red Rock Canyon the couple got ready together and helped each other with last minute details, which was a nice treat. Their favorite moment of the day though was having a mini reception with their friends in the desert after the ceremony. “Being able to drink champagne and have cake with that landscape was incredible,” said Desiree. Their advice to other couples is to have fun and not stress. We couldn’t agree more!
