Their Story

This couple’s story sounds almost like a Hallmark movie. Megan and Cody grew up in the same small town but since Cody is a little older, they never wound up getting together romantically. After graduation, Megan moved away for several years but then decide to back home to teach. They reconnected at a cute local place called the Traincar and have been together for two years since.

When it came time to propose Cody made it a family affair by involving his two children, Madix and Corbin. While they were completely remodeling the home they had just bought in February, Cody got down on one knee in the middle of their torn up kitchen and had Madix ask Megan to marry her dad! She said yes of course and was excited to be a “bonus mom”, as she puts it, to Cody’s two amazing children.

They chose Eldorado Canyon for their nuptials and invited a good amount of friends and family. People often think when they hear “elopement” that it has to be just the two of them but that’s definitely not the case. You want the people who mean the most to you there on your big day. Megan’s mom and friends made most of her flowers which made it truly special. The bridal party wore deep blues and purples and the groomsmen kept it a bit casual with blazers and jeans. Megan found her classic dress at Absolute Bridal in Midland, Texas and was thrilled with their service and how it turned out. She also praised Makeup in the 702 for styling her hair and makeup exactly how she envisioned it. That’s what you call a little bit country, and little bit rock and roll!

Megan and Cody didn’t see each other before the ceremony and were glad they waited. “Seeing Cody’s face light up when he saw me is a moment I could never forget,” said Megan. Their favorite moment of the day though was when Madix read a poignant letter to Megan. It truly was a moment no one will ever forget, us included. In conclusion Megan said “Everything with Cactus Collective was absolutely perfect. Being able to just show up and everything being so perfect was exactly what we needed.” We love hearing that and are so thankful we got to be a part of their special day!
