We’re privileged to get to take photographs of our couples getting married in some of the most beautiful natural backdrops in the American Southwest. Whether you’re saying “I do” in the colorful Calico Basin at Red Rock Canyon or in a rustic wooden chapel in the middle of a cactus nursery, we pride ourselves in capturing moments that will last forever.

Every photographer has a style and a unique perspective. If you think our style is as spectacular as we do, then our photographers must be doing something right. Thank you.

What’s Our Secret?

Our attention to detail makes Cactus Collective Weddings stand-out amongst the crowd of wedding companies in the market today. That’s true of everything we do, and especially of our photography, because we are a photography-based company. We know our couples come to us expecting the best and we pride ourselves on delighting them with our work.

We use a combination of techniques, tools and creative processes to reveal the specialness of every couple’s special day.

Our signature style produces soft and romantic photographs that highlight the delicate beauty of a bride’s lacy dress, her hair softly blowing in the breeze or the powerful kiss and embrace between newlyweds.

The Cactus Collective Weddings Difference

We believe our couples connect with the photos we take because of the expert human touch that goes into our photography process. Every once in a while we get a couple that asks us why our photos don’t look like the iPhone photos they or one of their guests took under the same conditions.

Frankly, photos taken with our high-end professional gear don’t look like images snapped with an iPhone because the iPhone is programmed to make decisions a computer would be happy with. While our manual process uses human judgment and expertise instead of algorithms and coded assumptions.

The Human Touch

The newest iPhone photos turn out the way they do in part thanks to its use of an editing technique called “High Dynamic Range.” In short, the device’s three lenses capture three images simultaneously at three different exposures to create an artificial representation of the lighting scenarios in the field of view.

It’s a great trick, but it’s not necessarily accurate. HDR photography allows the iPhone to make guesses about how a photographer would edit a picture. Our images don’t look like an iPhone image because we don’t make guesses.

We have chosen a style we love, and we shoot and edit our photos the way we do in order to capture the beauty we see at the weddings we attend.
